Pastor Sue Lee
Pastor Kyung Sook “Sue” Lee has served MUMC (Mequon United Methodist Church) since July 1, 2018. She was born in South Korea and moved to the United States in 1995. She graduated from the University of Duque Theological Seminary in 1999 and has been serving in the Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church since 1998. She loves to tell the story of Jesus Christ, and learn about God with and from Jesus’ followers in small group settings. She enjoys gardening, cooking, and watching movies that have stories of grace, redemption and hope for all. She has two adult children with her husband, Chris Park, named Min Young and Wesley. She also has a dog named Carly.
Minister of Children's Ministries
I am the Children’s Ministry Director. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Psychology and Social Work. My husband and I have two grown sons. Our family joined Mequon United Methodist Church in 2001. At that time, I joined the Children’s Ministry team, supporting and teaching Sunday School. I also worked at Mequon Junior Kindergarten teaching preschool. I have a passion for teaching children and helping them create a strong faith foundation that they can build on.
Originally from New York City, and then a small town north of Boston, Massachusetts, moving to Wisconsin has proven to be a life-changing experience. I was part of the first Accompanying Program at UWM. I have been a free-lance accompanist in the Milwaukee area for over 40 years, working with choirs of all ages (schools and community groups), playing for theater productions (also in schools and the community) and many years of subbing as organist in all denominations of churches in the Milwaukee area. I was subbing at MUMC in 2007 when the position became permanent, and being offered the opportunity to stay close to home was truly a wonderful gift to me. The music I play and those with whom I make that music provide a spiritual dimension to my life that cannot be measured.
