A message from our pastor

December, 2024

Dear MUMC Family and Friends,

In his book, Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis wrote that the Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God. And John witnessed how God becoming a man happened in the Gospel of John with these powerful words:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, 
and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.
 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made
that has been made.  14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling
among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-13 & 14 NIV)
         
That was what happened on the first Christmas, and it continues to happen to us when we open our hearts and minds to see and accept Jesus’ presence in us. Our Lord Jesus came to this world to bring the light that gives us life of hope, peace, joy and love.
 
This season of Advent is a just wonderful time to invite someone or anyone to our church. Please don’t pass by this season without inviting somebody who doesn’t know the Lord yet to MUMC.  To celebrate this Christmas season, MUMC offers special programs and services during the month of December as follows. 
December 8: Children’s Christmas Program at 9:30 AM         
December 13: All Church Live Nativity, Friday, December 13 from 6 PM – 8 PM
December 24: Christmas Eve Candle Light Service at 4 PM
